The South Dakota Air and Space Museum celebrated its reopening on Wednesday, June 26, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony after a two-year closure.
The event was attended by airmen, Ellsworth community leaders, and other guests who were excited to see the museum’s extensive renovations.
Visitors can now explore new large artifacts, artwork, and banners, enhancing their experience.
The ceremony featured a moment of silence, the singing of “The U.S. Air Force” song, and an official ribbon cutting.
According to John Moyes, the 28th Bomb Wing Historian, the museum honors the contributions and commitment of various individuals to the nation and the Air Force, aiming to instill a sense of pride and heritage among its visitors.
