Keith Pazour, a Pierre, South Dakota resident, recently secured the South Dakota state record for walleye fishing with a catch weighing 17 pounds 13.92 ounces.
Despite a late start on Lake Oahe, Pazour’s solitary expedition proved fruitful, as he landed the record-breaking walleye just 45 minutes into his fishing trip.
The previous record, broken three weeks earlier, was held by North Dakota’s Aaron Schuck, but Pazour’s impressive catch surpassed it by over a pound, marking a new milestone in South Dakota’s fishing history.
