Jed Smeenk, a 32-year-old Belle Fourche resident, is facing a felony charge in Sioux Falls after allegedly breaking a valuable art piece on display in downtown Sioux Falls.
Smeenk was walking along Phillips Avenue when he pulled on a sculpture from the Sioux Falls SculptureWalk, causing it to fall and shatter.
The artwork, valued at $10,000, led to Smeenk being charged with intentional damage to property as a felony.
He faces potential prison time and fines if convicted.
Smeenk also has three other pending criminal cases in different counties.
