South Dakota Supreme Court Suspends Former Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg’s Law License for Six Months

The South Dakota Supreme Court has suspended former Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg’s law license for six months.

The court found that Ravnsborg violated several professional conduct rules, including dishonesty during the investigation of a fatal car crash in which he struck and killed pedestrian Joe Boever.

The justices cited his misuse of his attorney general title to avoid accountability and his failure to take responsibility for his actions.

The court concluded the suspension was necessary to maintain the integrity of the legal profession.
