The South Dakota Board of Technical Education approved their budget request that will go to the Governor and the 2024 legislature.
Executive Director Nick Wendell says they are looking for a modest increase.
Wendell says they will ask that tuition and fees are frozen for a third year.
In the current budget, the schools were budgeted over $9 million in one-time funding for equipment.
Wendell says he is proposing an ongoing budget for future equipment needs.
Last year’s total budget for the four technical schools was $47.7 million, the proposal for next year is $47.9 million.
