On Wednesday, March 20, a stabbing in Watertown resulted in one person being taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The incident occurred at the 1000 block of 4th Ave NW, where the Watertown Police Department responded to a reported stabbing at 2:49 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers found an adult victim with two stab wounds. The victim was quickly transported to the hospital by Watertown Fire Rescue.
The suspect, identified as 70-year-old Wanda Shepherd, a resident of Watertown, was located and apprehended without further incident.
Shepherd has been taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Assault.
The investigation is ongoing, with the Watertown Police Department receiving assistance from the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation.
