Standoff Ends in Sioux Falls as Suspect Surrenders to SWAT Team

Sioux Falls Police provided more information on a Tuesday standoff in Sioux Falls, during which the SWAT team was activated after a suspect made threats against law enforcement.

The standoff, which lasted several hours, ended when the SWAT team pepper-sprayed the suspect’s apartment, leading the 20-year-old suspect, Matthew Lee Hill, to surrender.

Hill is facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault on law enforcement, possession of a stolen vehicle, and obstruction, based on several arrest warrants against him for receiving stolen vehicles and identity theft.
