Texas Man and Nebraska Woman Sentenced to Prison for 2nd Degree Murder and Assault in Wagner, S.D. Killing

A Texas man, Alexis Delarosa, and a Nebraska woman, Justina Tuttle, have been sentenced to federal prison after pleading guilty to 2nd Degree Murder and Assault charges in connection with the death of George Cournoyer Jr. in Wagner in late 2020.

Delarosa will serve 30 years behind bars, while Tuttle will be imprisoned for just under seven years.

Court documents revealed that the fatal incident occurred in December 2020 when Delarosa struck Cournoyer multiple times with a hammer during a fight, and Tuttle later hit him with a bat before both assailants left the scene, resulting in Cournoyer’s death shortly after.
