Three men were arrested by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office during an attempted break-in at a church, part of a series of investigations into local church burglaries.
Deputies stationed inside the targeted church observed two men attempting to enter through the back door before fleeing in a black Chevrolet.
Upon locating the vehicle, authorities arrested a 31-year-old from Hawarden, a 27-year-old from Sheldon, and a 19-year-old from Sioux Center.
Methamphetamine, burglary tools, and items connected to previous burglaries were discovered.
The suspects face charges including burglary, possession of burglary tools, and drug-related offenses.
The driver also faces an additional charge for having forged paper plates.
