Two Men Get Decades in Prison for Trafficking 35,000 Fentanyl Pills in Sioux Falls

Two men — one from Sioux Falls and one from Arizona — have been sentenced to long prison terms for trafficking tens of thousands of fentanyl pills into the Sioux Falls area and laundering the drug money.

Fame Cobbs, 40, received a 24-year sentence, plus an additional 18 months for assaulting a federal officer while in custody.

Mario Taylor, 34, of Phoenix, was sentenced to 15 years.

Prosecutors say Taylor supplied large shipments of fentanyl pills to Cobbs, who then distributed them with help from co-conspirators.

Investigators intercepted about 18 packages containing 2,000 to 4,000 pills each, and estimate roughly 35,000 fentanyl pills were trafficked overall.

Cobbs also sent drug proceeds back to Taylor via Cash App.

While awaiting trial, Cobbs repeatedly acted violently in jail, including flooding his cell and kicking an officer.
