Two Separate Dog Biting Cases in Sioux Falls

Over the weekend, two separate dog bite incidents occurred in Sioux Falls. Sioux Falls Animal Control is seeking assistance in identifying the dogs involved, both of which were described as German Shepherds.

The first incident took place on Saturday at Spencer Dog Park at approximately 4:00 p.m. A woman and her dog were in the fenced-in large dog area when a black German Shepherd mix, wearing a blue or green collar, attacked her dog. The woman attempted to break up the fight and was subsequently bitten on her finger and arm. The owner of the German Shepherd, described as a white male in his 40s wearing a green shirt, khaki shorts, and a straw hat, did not provide any contact information at the time.

The second incident occurred on Sunday around 1:15 p.m. at Whittier Park, where a woman was bitten by a stray dog while eating lunch. The stray dog was described as a long-haired black and tan German Shepherd-type dog with a blue collar. Animal Control is particularly interested in identifying this dog to verify its vaccinations.

Sioux Falls Animal Control urges anyone with information on either dog to contact them at 367-7000.
