On Saturday, September 7, at 11:25 AM, emergency responders were called to a farm in rural Volga, SD, where two workers, Larry Dalzell (51) of Murfreesboro, TN, and Randi Vandekieft (41) of Warner Robins, GA, were found deceased.
They had been repairing the roof of an 80-foot Harvestore silage silo and became trapped inside, likely due to toxic gas exposure.
Both were employed by Heartland Tank Inc.
The incident is under investigation by the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
