The Miner County Sheriff’s Office has issued a warning to residents after a mountain lion was spotted on the east side of the Golf Course in Howard.
The report has been forwarded to the South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks for investigation.
Authorities advise the public not to attempt to locate, track, or approach the animal.
Additionally, the National Parks Service offers safety tips, urging people to avoid approaching or running from a lion, and to appear as large as possible and fight back if attacked.
