A 35-year-old man from Watertown, Jeffery McGuire, has been charged with multiple offenses following a confrontation in Pierre on Saturday night.
The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. near Missouri Avenue and Central Avenue. Officers responded to reports of someone deflating a car’s tires.
An investigation revealed that the male victim was loading a trailer when McGuire began deflating the vehicle’s tires, upset that it was parked in the road. When the victim confronted McGuire and attempted to call the police, McGuire took the victim’s phone and threw it to the ground, breaking the screen.
McGuire was arrested and taken to Hughes County Jail, facing charges of Simple Assault-Intimidation, Intentional Damage to Property, Tampering with a Motor Vehicle, and Interference with Emergency Communications.
