Watertown School District Faces Unexpected Teaching Vacancy Amidst Teacher’s Arrest

The Watertown School District is confronted with an unforeseen teaching vacancy following the arrest of an English teacher, Jordan Bakken.

The charges against Bakken, including Solicitation of a Minor, Fourth Degree Rape, and Sexual Contact with a Child Under 18, were filed in Brookings County.

Superintendent Dr. Jeff Danielsen assured parents that there is no indication of involvement with more than one student.

The teacher’s resignation awaits final approval from the school board, with a special meeting scheduled for Monday, January 29th.
