The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fire that occurred on Saturday, July 15, 2023, in Elkton.
The fire broke out around 10:09 am in the 200 Block of Warehouse Street. Flames were observed coming out of a shed as the resident was leaving.
Firefighters responded promptly and extinguished the fire.
Upon inspection, it was found that several lawnmowers, weed eaters, tools, and a Bobcat CT2025 tractor had been damaged. The estimated cost of the damage is $25,000.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.
