A 19-year-old Yankton resident, Theodore Kranig Jr., faces charges of second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter following the death of an individual during a welfare check on Friday, Dec. 13 in the 1000 block of Walnut Street.
Yankton Police discovered the unresponsive victim, who could not be revived.
Details about the victim and circumstances remain under investigation, with police assuring the public there is no ongoing safety threat.
