Yankton Man Sentenced to 85 Years in Manslaughter Case

Trevor Harrison of Yankton has been sentenced to 85 years in prison, with 20 years suspended, for pleading guilty to First Degree Manslaughter in the 2022 shooting death of his former girlfriend.

Attorney General Marty Jackley announced the sentencing and commended the law enforcement officers and prosecutors involved in the case.

Harrison will also be required to pay restitution.

The South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation and Yankton Police Department conducted the investigation, while the prosecution was handled by the South Dakota Attorney General’s Office and Yankton County State’s Attorney’s Office.
