It looks like the 25th Dakotafest will have to wait a least a year. Mitchell CVB Director Sonya Moller says she got the word Friday. “They want to ensure the safety of our vendors, our attendees, all of our volunteers,” said Moller. “And with the year of COVID…it’s kind of uncertain and they just felt in the best interests of those individuals that they would not have Dakotafest this year.”
She says the CVB has been in contact with Dakotafest on a weekly basis.
Moller says Dakotafest is planning some virtual events that can be accessed on its website.
She says the CVB understands Dakotafest’s decision to cancel for this year and remains dedicated to working with the organization to make sure next year’s event is the best ever.
