The Mitchell Area United kicked off its annual campaign Wednesday with its Day of Caring at Hitchcock Park.
Sydney Lanning is executive director. “The park was full, full of all the people volunteering today,” said Lanning. “We are funding 33 non-profits next year. We announced our campaign goal and our campaign theme, which is ‘Give Today, Grow Tomorrow’, which explains our expanded service area and our goal is $530,000.”
She wants to see more dollars go back into the community. “We actually funded every agency that applied, so nobody was denied funding,” Lanning said.
She says the volunteer packets are distributed and the campaign is set to run through the end of September. “We’ll be out hitting the pavement!”, Lanning exclaimed.
