Hundreds attend Mitchell’s annual Community Christmas dinner

Mitchell’s 20th annual Community Christmas dinner at the Masonic Lodge was a crowd pleaser. Organizer Troy Magnuson was overwhelmed. “We fed right at 700 people, 350 of those were deliveries,” said Magnuson. “We had a ton of volunteer help, my heart is full.” He says Santa Claus also showed up.

People lined up to enjoy Mitchell’s 20th annual Community Christmas Dinner at the Masonic Lodge Christmas Day.

Magnuson says the theme of the annual event is “no one should be alone on Christmas Day.” “The epitome of what Christmas is all about,” he said. “It was just happy, they were fed, they talked to each other…it was just one of the best days I’ve had in a long time.”

The “jolly old elf” dropped by on his way back back to the North Pole.

Magnuson says it’s a challenging task to put on the annual dinner and he’s grateful for the outpouring of volunteers from the community who gladly helped. He says it makes his heart happy.
