A $33-million dollar boost to the future of education in Mitchell

Roger and Vicki Musick of Mitchell have made a transformative $33-million dollar donation with the goal of elevating local education in making Mitchell an exceptional place to raise a family.

Roger Musick is a believer in education. “I’ve always supported the Mitchell School system and DWU,” said Musick. “And they’ve worked very well in the past and I just want to see that continue into the distant future.”

The funds are earmarked as two separate $15-million dollar endowments, one for the Mitchell School District and one for Dakota Wesleyan University. The remaining $3-million dollars is being presented to both institutions as immediate seed money to launch new programs right away.

The announcement comes on the eve of the first day of classes at the new Mitchell High School.
