Lifequest of Mitchell celebrated a new step toward offering independence for a number of the people it serves with a ribbon-cutting at its Cottage Bend Houses.
Lifequest executive director Pam Hanna led the festivities. “Friendship and generosity are the heartbeat of this community and LifeQuest is very blessed to be a part of that,” said Hanna. “So thank you for being with us today and believing in a dream that we set forth to you nine months ago and is here. That dream was the belief that people can live (0:17) in their own homes and guess what? Today they are doing it!”
There are six Cottage Bend Houses ready for their first residents. Hanna introduced them and their House Champions.
She pointed out Cottage Bend Houses is the first of its kind development in the state. “And thank every one of you for leading the way for better lives for people,” Hannah concluded
The residents are set to move in soon to start enjoying their new independence.
