A Mitchell manufacturer gets a big boost

A partnership with Dandelion Energy is good news for Enertech Global’s Mitchell, South Dakota manufacturing facility.

“We are going to be making about 2000 plus ground source heat pumps here that will be deployed over the next two years in fourteen communities in the Colorado area,” said Enertech CEO Derek Dwyer.

He says the project is one of the largest residential geo-thermal HVAC deployments in U.S. history. “While we’re looking forward to adding more people in our factory, over the years we’ve added on twice to the factory,” he continued. “We have the ability to add additional shifts to double production and, as this continues, we will expect to need an additional expansion to the factory in the coming years.”

Dwyer added the Enertech team in Mitchell is excited about what the project will mean for the continued investment in the factory and job growth in the future.

According to a recent report from the Department of Energy, widespread adoption of geothermal heat pumps could eliminate the need for nearly 25,000 miles of new grid transmission lines and result in annual grid system savings of $4-billion dollars.
