Another treatment court success story

James Valley Drug and DUI Court celebrated the graduation of Kelly C. from the intensive program Thursday before a packed Davison County Public Safety courtroom.

He celebrated 529 sober days, paid off $932 dollars in fine and costs as well as attended 275 hours of treatment and 235 support group meetings.

Kelly spoke of his battles with both alcoholism and depression and how it broke him down and how he turned his life around. He thanked those who helped him along his journey to recovery and offered encouragement to others fighting the battle, in his words: “Figure out what you need from this. Find what doing the next right thing is for you. Don’t give up on it. Don’t give up on yourself. Don’t let the bad days win. And be relentless.”
