Davison County has been approved for an Economic Injury Disaster due to the current drought.
Emergency Management Director Jeff Bathke says Aurora County triggered the response. “And since we are an abutting surrounding county, the rest of us, there’s six or seven of us, also qualify for that,” said Bathke.
He says the assistance is in the form of low interest loans. “Small businesses or ag producers in Davison, as well as Aurora, Brule, Charles Mix, Douglas, Jerauld, and Sanborn counties can apply for up to $2 million in loan funding,” Bathke explained.
With interest rates of four-percent for small businesses and 3.6 percent for private non-profit organizations.
