Authorities have released the name of a 56 year old man from Aberdeen who died last Thursday in a two-vehicle crash on I-29, four miles north of Sioux Falls, SD.
The South Dakota Department of Public Safety reported James Alan Knapp was driving a Chevrolet Monte Carlo south on Interstate 29 near mile marker 88. The vehicle had come to a complete stop in the driving lane and was struck from behind by an oncoming Peterbilt semi driven by 35 year old Rambo Saw from St. Paul Minnesota. The Monte Carlo came to rest in the west ditch.
Knapp died from injuries sustained in the crash. He was not wearing a seatbelt. Saw was not injured.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
