Avera Queen of Peace Hospital is excited to share that Emerson Dahme was its first baby born in 2024.
She was delivered at 9:58 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, to Jacob and Michelle Dahme of Mitchell. Emerson weighed 6 pounds and was 19 inches long.
“All of the staff at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital and the Dakota Women’s Clinic have been amazing and incredibly helpful,” the parents stated. “They have made the transition to becoming parents so much smoother.”
The top names among the 404 babies (192 girls and 212 boys) born at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in 2023 were Henry (eight instances) for boys and Ava and Lainey (three instances each) for girls.
For the Avera Health system overall, the top three boys’ names were Hudson (25 instances), Henry (23 instances) and Owen (19 instances). The top girls’ names were Evelyn (17 instances), Lainey (17 instances) and Ellie (14 instances).
