Bon Homme County fatal crash

A man from Omaha, Nebraska died Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash near Tyndall.

The South Dakota Department of Public Safety reported around 8am, the 32 year old male driver of a 2020 Ford F-250 from Colman was traveling northbound on S.D. Highway 37 near the intersection of S.D. Highway 52. At the same time, the 49 year old male driver of a 2025 Honda Pilot stopped in the westbound lane on S.D. Highway 52 before proceeding into the intersection. The Honda was struck by the Ford. All three people were taken to a Tyndall hospital. The driver of the Honda died from his injuries. His passenger, a 47 year old female from Omaha was taken to a Sioux Falls hospital via Life Flight with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Ford sustained minor injuries. The driver of the Ford was not using a seatbelt, the occupants of the Honda were both using seatbelts.

Names of the those involved have not been released pending notification of family members.

The investigation is ongoing.
