An eighteen year old Letcher man is in custody after he was arrested in Yankton County regarding a recent burglary in Mitchell.
Lieutenant Don Everson says Demetrius Vanwalleghen is charged with burglary and grand theft for a break in at Fog N Droz early on April 26th.
Stolen items include batteries for vape pens, vape pens, vape juice and cash. The loss is estimated at more than $2,000.
Surveillance video indicated two suspects involved in the break-in. There’s no word on the second suspect.
Grand Theft is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and or a $20,000 fine. Third Degree Burglary carries a maximum sentence of 5 years in prison and or a $10,000 fine plus restitution.
