Eighteen camps competed for top honors at Sunday’s Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo Chili Cook-Off in ideal weather. “And I’m going to order it like this every year from now on,” said Cook Off Chairman Stan Peterson. “It couldn’t be any better.”

The committee also moved the location where chili-lovers purchased their cups and spoons to the center of the camp area for a change. “That way instead of the first two or three close to the where the cups are sold, this way they’re close to everybody,” said Peterson. “So, it gets evenly distributed.”

Judges awarded Big Daddy’s Catering First Place with U-S Bank Second and Iverson Auto Third.
The “People’s Choice” trophy went to VerHey Lawn Service and Sturdevant’s Auto won for Best Camp.
This year’s theme was “Space Cowboys.”
