Christmas Shopping for Kids a holiday hit!

For 31 years “Christmas Shopping for Kids” in Mitchell has offered an opportunity for youngsters to share in the joy of holiday gift-giving for family and friends without breaking the bank.

About a dozen local vendors at Mitchell’s Masonic Lodge offered gifts priced ten-dollars or less, including free-wrapping.

Liz Luczak of Mitchell Main Street and Beyond says the event has a heart-warming history. “There was this Mom. She opened up (her gift) and her kid bought her a “diamond” ring for three-dollars from this event, and that kid was so proud as punch,” said Luczak. “And it is a lasting memory, and that was fifteen years ago.” She added there were new memories made on Saturday.

Luczak is grateful for the vendors, the volunteers who guided the youngsters, plus volunteers from a number of organizations who made Christmas Shopping for Kid’s successful.
