The 2024 Corn Palace Festival wrapped up Sunday afternoon after a five-day run which Corn Palace Director Doug Greenway called an overall success. “The Skillet Concert, just over 1,800 people in the building for that show, and 64% of them were outside the 57301 zip code,” said Greenway. “So we pulled people from farther away for that show than, like, the Scotty McCreery show. While a bigger show, many more locals attended that concert.”
He got fairly good responses from vendors. “We had vendors say it’s the best year they’ve had,” Greenway said. “Others say, well, it was pretty slow on Friday, but Saturday was good, or vice versa.”
Greenway says he’s waiting for the final numbers from Gold Star Amusements which are an important indicator as well. He says the Corn Palace events committee will review this year’s event and start planning for 2025.
