Following Monday’s Memorial Day services in Mitchell Cub Scout Pack 75 and a number of American Legion veterans hosted a demonstration of the proper retirement of American flags by fire.
Veteran Dean Strand says there are two drop boxes where the flags may be dropped off, one at Servicemen’s Memorial Cemetery…..
And a second box at Mitchell’s Veterans Memorial Park at the corner of First and Main.
Strand says it’s important American flags are respected ….
During the ceremony, the Cub Scouts delivered each used flag to adult volunteers who placed them in a container for burning and proper disposal.
