Former Davison County corrections sergeant Isaac Tirrel was arrested Monday for simple assault for allegedly assaulting a female inmate while on duty. The incident occurred on December 8th. The following day Tirrel was suspended by Sheriff Steve Harr. The case was turned over to the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation and a warrant was issued for Tirrel’s arrest on Dec. 23. Tirrel turned himself in Monday, posted $1,000 bond and was released. Harr said in a news release that Tirrel has since been terminated.
