Davison County employees are getting a 4.5% pay raise

Davison County employees will see a 4.5% pay increase this year. Commissioners approved the bump during Monday’s meeting after a lengthy discussion which included input from employees.

Commissioner Chris Nebelsick believed 4.5% was reasonable. “I think we’ve always been very receptive when people came and asked for that kind of stuff,” said Nebelsick. “I think 4.5 is fair.”

Commissioner Denny Kiner pushed for a 5% boost. “It’s been an ongoing problem that long for getting help in the jail,” Kiner said. “And the reason is, is because of the pay.”

The pay hike also applies to department heads, elected officials, commissioners and contracted employees.

In other business, Commissioners approved out of county jail rates, the purchase of two used vehicles and met in executive session for personnel matters.

Veterans Service Officer T.J. Thomas also reviewed his office’s 2024 activity.
