A resident in rural Mt. Vernon reported Tuesday that on Monday morning, five individuals were found on his property outside the residence. The individuals left the property after being noticed by the property owner, who was outside mowing. Later in the evening, the property owner discovered people had been in the house and an undisclosed amount of money was missing. The property owner mentioned that on Sunday a different group of individuals were on the property saying their vehicle ran of fuel. The property owner told these people to leave the property.
