Davison County Commissioners took a first step towards establishing the Davison County Rail Authority in partnership with the City of Mitchell.
A rail authority is an entity which oversees a designated rail transportation corridor, such as Davison County. It’s designed to preserve and improve rail service in its jurisdiction.

The board appointed Commissioners Chris Nebelsick and Mike Blaalid to represent the commission on the DCRA. The Mitchell City Council will consider joining next week and will also appoint two members. A fifth member will serve at-large.
These are only the first steps in officially forming the DCRA.
