DWU ranked by U.S. News and World Report

Dakota Wesleyan University has been ranked among America’s Best Regional Colleges-Midwest and named a Best Value School-Midwestern Regional College, according to the U.S. News & World Report 2022 Best Colleges rankings, which were released Sept. 13.

DWU was also ranked third as one of the best Undergraduate Teaching programs in the Midwest, the only South Dakota college to make the list.

This is the ninth time that Dakota Wesleyan is ranked as one of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Regional Colleges-Midwest and the fifth time the university has been named a Best Value School.

“Dakota Wesleyan University’s excellence continues to be affirmed through these ranking,” said Theresa Kriese, DWU interim president. “New programs, leadership development, exceptional outcomes, and state-of-the-art facilities have rapidly moved DWU up the list of top schools in the Midwest region. Additionally, the Best Value ranking reflects the value of an investment in a Wesleyan education.  We know that DWU’s education pays dividends after graduation. We want every student to be able to secure an education without burdensome debt.  We are proud of our ongoing commitment to scholarships, making access and affordability possible for all students.”

According to its website, U.S. News & World Report evaluates schools based on 17 measures of academic quality, from first-year retention to graduate rates to strength of faculty.

Best Value Colleges are selected based on academic quality, net cost, financial need of students and percentage of students receiving scholarships.
