A 77-year-old man died Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash nine miles southwest of Conde.
The South Dakota Department of Public Safety says preliminary crash information indicates the male driver of a UTV turned in front of a westbound Peterbilt truck on SD Highway 20 just before 5pm. The truck struck the UTV, forcing it into the ditch where it rolled. The driver of the UTV died from his injuries. He wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. The 60 year old male driver of the Peterbilt was uninjured and was wearing a seatbelt.
The names of the persons involved ae being withheld pending notification of family members.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
