One person died early Sunday morning in a one-vehicle crash eight miles southeast of Wagner.
The south Dakota Department of Public Safety says an SUV was traveling westbound on 299th Street west of S.D. Hwy. 50 shortly after 4 am. The 63-year-old female driver lost control on the gravel road and the vehicle began to yaw. The SUV left the gravel road, entered the south ditch, and rolled. The driver wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. The SUV came to a final rest on the driver’s side. The driver sustained fatal injuries.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is preliminary.
