The Federal Emergency Management Agency is hosting a disaster mitigation event today through Sunday at Menards in Mitchell.
Bob Nix is a Hazard Mitigation Committee Education and Outreach Specialist who can offer information to help people save money. “How to select and work with a contractor,” said Nix. “Ready.gov, preparing for future disasters, flood insurance information, general construction information.”
Even if you didn’t sustain damage from the July storms, it’s always a good idea to be prepared. “Things like an emergency supply list,” Nix said. “Flashlight, ban-aids, sanitary goods, water.”
FEMA will be at Menard’s daily now through Sunday from 9:30 am to 7pm just inside the main entrance.
