The Federal Emergency Management Agency has approved 198 disaster assistance applications in Davison thus far totaling more than $649,000 in aid. That’s the word from FEMA Public Affairs Specialist Tony Mayne.
He says as of Friday, FEMA has approved 743 disaster assistance applications in the four counties under the disaster declaration, including Davison, for a total of more than $4.1-million dollars in aid.
Mayne is reminding residents damage claims are not restricted to flood damage only. They can also apply to weather related damage to roofs, HVAC systems and furnaces, as examples.
He says FEMA is in the process of establishing a Disaster Recovery Center in Davison County and expects it to open sometime next week at a location to be announced. Mayne says FEMA representatives have also gone door to door in Davison County as well.
