Mitchell Technical College hosted a 10 year anniversary celebration of the Build Dakota Scholarship Thursday.
Former Governor Dennis Daugaard played a role in moving the idea forward. “I would have never, ever foreseen how much industry has joined in to match virtually every dollar that the state now has put together with Danny Sanford’s gift and with other gifts,” said Daugaard. “Every scholarship dollar today is being matched with a dollar from industry.”
He credited Dana Dykhouse as a champion of Build Dakota. “He’s also helping lead the four technical schools and their advancement of careers where there is a skilled-trade in demand,” the former Governor said.
TV personality and supporter of technical education and trades, Mike Rowe of Dirty Jobs, also attended the celebration.
