Former KORN owner and on-air personality Dean Sorenson inducted into the South Dakota Hall of Fame

The South Dakota Hall-of-Fame welcomed its ten newest members during its annual gathering in Chamberlain Friday night.

Mitchell native and KORN alumnus Dean Sorenson was among the honorees. Radio was, and still is his lifelong passion. “It’s a great business, and it’s a great value to communities,” Sorenson said. “And I just, since I was a little kid, have always liked the impact that radio stations can make a community a better community.”

He says radio serves communities in a number of ways. “If there’s a need in the community for charity or something, we can step up,” said Sorenson. “There’s always a need for information. “We give them the news every day, we entertain people.”
