The Mitchell City Council unanimously approved a resolution to re-name the current “Public Beach” on North Harmon Drive to “Sebert’s Beach” in honor of former Mayor Lou Sebert’s contributions to the betterment of the City of Mitchell.
Sebert died last week at the age of 89.
Mayor Jordan Hanson sponsored the resolution.
Councilor Marty Barington joined the City Council when Sebert became Mayor in 2006.
Sebert also served in the State House of Representatives.
