A head-on collision resulted in a medical helicopter airlift for the seriously injured victims.
The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office said it happened shortly after 2:30 pm Tuesday when a Volkswagen Tiguan and a Honda Civic collided on Highway 30 near 483rd Avenue in Brookings County.
The sheriff’s office says the occupants of the Honda Civic — two juveniles from Huron — were airlifted to Sioux Falls for treatment of unknown injuries, and the driver and passenger of the Volkswagen — an adult and a juvenile from Ivanhoe, Minnesota — were transported to the Hendricks Minnesota Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
