Governor Kristi Noem extends school closures for a second week

Governor Kristi Noem is recommending South Dakota schools remain closed through Friday, March 27th.

Superintendent Joe Graves says Mitchell will continue its e-learning initiative Wednesday. “We won’t have it Thursday, Friday because that was our spring break, and we won’t have it Monday because that’s our professional development day,” said Graves. “But we will have it Tuesday through Friday next week, ending on the 27th of March.” He says is set to resume on March 30th.

He says each school building will continue to offer grab and go breakfast and lunch Wednesday, but not Thursday and Friday due to spring break. These meals will resume every day next week, March 23rd-27th with breakfast from 8am to 10:30 am followed by lunch from 11am to 1pm. The meals are free to anyone under eighteen years old and again served at all school buildings.
