Grant Awarded to Love Feast of Mitchell

Love Feast of Mitchell recently accepted a $1000 Operation Round-Up® grant from Central Electric Cooperative to support its nutrition initiative. Operation Round-Up is a grant program funded by Central Electric members who round up their monthly electric bill to the next dollar.

“With the help of local churches and other organizations, Love Feast provides two meals each month to needy people in and around the Mitchell area,” Peggy Pearson, Love Feast of Mitchell Task Force Member, explained in the grant application.

“The first meal served each month reaches 500 to 550 people, and the second meal serves more than 100 individuals and families,” Pearson said.

Mitchell United Way and local businesses also help Love Feast of Mitchell achieve its mission to provide food to those in need.

Jeff Gustafson serves on the Central Electric board of directors for Davison County, and Steve Weisz serves on the Operation Round-Up board of trustees for Davison County. For more information about the grant program, call 605-996-7516 or visit www.centralec.coop and click on member programs.
