A 71 year old man from Stuart, Nebraska man died in a single vehicle crash Tuesday evening, 10 miles east of Burke.
The South Dakota Department of Public Safety reported about 7:25 pm, the male driver of a 1939 Chevrolet JB Coupe was traveling eastbound on Highway 18 when the vehicle left the roadway and entered the ditch. The vehicle struck an approach, went airborne, then rolled. The driver died at the scene. He was the vehicle’s lone occupant.
The name of the person involved has not been released pending notification of family members.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
